Miss Rosen is a journalist, book publisher, and brand strategist specializing in art, photography, and contemporary culture.

Whether kicking back with celebrated Harlem haberdasher Dapper Dan to share his story in Jocks & Nerds or penning the “Art Outsider” column for the first issues of Whitewall, Miss Rosen has brought her original take on art, music, and culture to the glossies since 2005. Her work has appeared in L’Uomo Vogue, Grey, Swindle, Bust, Staf, and Code, as well as the historic New York weekly, The Village Voice.

She also took the reigns as editor, creative director, and advertising director of powerHouse Magazine, a twice-annual publication produced in conjunction with exhibitions she curated at The powerHouse Arena between 2006 and 2009. Each issue explored a single theme, fusing the worlds of art, photography, and literature into a singular blend of popular culture and lifestyle that brought the brand broader recognition outside the book publishing world.

Her essays on art, culture, and style have also been published in websites including LVogue Online, Dazed Digital, The Undefeated,  Aperture Online, Feature Shoot, L’Oeil de la Photographie, Crave Online, aRUDE, and Webby-award nominated website NYC, 1981.

Miss Rosen has contributed critical essays, artist profiles, and interviews to illustrated books, artist monographs, and exhibition catalogues for Carlos Batts, Janette Beckman, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Dennis Busch, Joe Conzo, Roger Gastman, Arlene Gottfried, Pedro Paricio, Harvey Stein, Allan Tannenbaum, Libri Drago, and Trolley Books.

During her 10-year tenure as Vice President of Marketing at powerHouse Books, Miss Rosen established her own imprint specializing in contemporary urban culture. As publisher of Miss Rosen Editions, she collaborated with artists on all aspects of the book, from photo editing, sequencing, art direction, and book design to production, sales, marketing, publicity, and promotions. With 15 titles to the list, Miss Rosen has worked with authors including Charlie Ahearn, Boogie, Martha Cooper, Danielle Levitt, and Ricky Powell.

As a brand strategist with nearly 20 years experience, Miss Rosen has worked with book publishers, galleries, artists, and authors to conceptualize and execute a diverse array of publicity campaigns, branding initiatives, corporate partnerships, and special events including exhibitions, parties, performances, and lectures. Her clients have included Eric Firestone Gallery, Steven Kasher Gallery, Glitterati Incorporated, Melcher Media, Prestel Publishing, Redux Pictures, and authors Gail Buckland, David T. Hanson, and David Shields.

Highlights include publicity campaigns for Photographer’s Paradise: Turbulent American 1960-1990 by Jean-Pierre Laffont (Glitterati Incorporated), Who Shot Rock and Roll by Gail Buckland (Knopf), and Autograf: New York City’s Graffiti Writers by Peter Sutherland (powerHouse Books); events such as Brett Ratner’s Hilhaven Lodge launch party at Robert Evans’ Beverly Hills estate, “We B*Girlz: A 25th Anniversary Breakin’ Event at Lincoln Center Out of Doors”, and the Vandal Squad panel discussion at the powerHouse Arena; branding initiatives powerHouse Magazine, a twice-yearly publication; and The Chic and The Click, weekly columns for Glitterati Incorporated; and corporate partnerships with Timberland, VH1, and Boost Mobile, among others.

Miss Rosen has lectured at Columbia University, the International Center of Photography, and the School of Visual Arts, all in New York. Her work has been featured in aRUDE, Eyemazing, Juxtapoz, Paper Magazine’s 9th Annual “Beautiful People” Issue, Photo District News, Spread ArtCulture, and Style Monte Carlo.

She received her bachelor’s degree from The City College of New York and her Master’s Degree from New York University. She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
